    Full-Time High School Special Education Teacher (Special Education 7-12
    and Secondary Subject Area 7-12 Certifications Required)

    The High School Special Education Teacher would be responsible for
    planning, organizing, and presenting instructional lessons contributing
    to students' educational, social, and physical development to enhance their
    self-worth and equip them with the basic knowledge, skills, and abilities
    needed to function in society. In addition, this teacher would be
    providing instruction and support for students’ core academic courses.

    Experience writing IEPs and providing assessments to monitor progress.

    Experience with PAES Lab preferred.

    Ability to effectively support students across various academic,
    behavioral, and social-emotional levels.

    Candidates must possess valid PA certification in one of the following areas:

    Business/Computer/Information Technology, Technology Education, or Computer
    Science. Current course load includes programming, engineering, robotics, and a
    student-run business course (Freedom Fortune 500). The successful candidate will have
    significant input as to the nature and types of courses offered in the future. Candidates must have
    exemplary communication skills as well as the ability to engage and connect with all
    students. The successful candidate will work collaboratively on interdisciplinary and
    departmental teams.

    Cyber Coordinator/Math Intervention Specialist (High School)

    *Certification: Math (7-12) or Special Education *

    · Responsible for enrolling students (K-12) in the cyber program

    · Communicate weekly progress with students and parents

    · Create guidelines for student progress that allows them to complete
    courses in reasonable time

    · Collaborate with the teacher of record for each course, to make courses
    rigorous, while allowing students to experience success

    · Work with the administration, guidance department, and teachers to
    develop guidelines for the cyber program (ex. transition from face to face
    instruction to cyber or vice versa)

    · Set and communicate grading deadlines for cyber teachers each nine weeks

    · Hold a meeting with cyber teachers at the beginning of each school year
    to communicate guidelines and expectations

    · Contact the parents of students that have left the District, and recruit
    them to return to Freedom

    · Responsible for monitoring student attendance, and communicating it on a
    weekly basis with the appropriate attendance secretary

    · Work with teachers of record to make sure that grades are current

    · Conduct a beginning of the year meeting with students and their parents

    · Pull students for individual and/or group interventions

    · Work with teachers to identify students that need extra
    support/enrichment

    Freedom School District has partnered with Kelly Educational Staffing (KES) to provide day-to-day and long-term substitute teachers and paraprofessionals.

     Minimum Requirements:

    PA state clearances, Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training, and TB test results  

    Day to Day Substitute Teachers: $125.00/day

    Long-Term Substitute Teachers (20 + days): $135.00/day

    Active PA teaching certificates, inactive teaching certifications, or ACT 86 for college students with 60+ credits in education will be accepted. If you or someone you know holds a Bachelor’s degree, contact the local Kelly branch to learn more about emergency certification.

    Paraprofessionals: $12/hour
