Misty Slavic joined the Freedom Area School District in July 2013 after working as the Assistant to the Superintendent at Burgettstown Area School District. Mrs. Slavic has also worked as a Classrooms for the Future Coach and secondary English teacher for alternative and public schools in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh areas.
Mrs. Slavic graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in secondary English education. She completed her masters degree in curriculum instruction and design from the University of Phoenix, as well as completed her principal certification with Drexel University. Misty completed her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility in December 2013 from Edinboro University.
Mrs. Slavic's expertise throughout her educational career has been focused on grant writing, technology integration, curriculum development, professional development, and special education.
