• The robotics class recently participated in Southwest Pennsylvania Bots IQ, which is an educational robotics competition.  The first competition in February allowed the students to determine the weaknesses of the robot. Our students worked hard to redesign and reconstruct to eliminate the concerns and prepare for the final competition.  The finals were held at California University of Pennsylvania, April 25 and 26. Seventy-two teams from 50 high schools battled to the death. The battles were tough and some robots were taken out of the arena in shovels! Our robot, Freedom-VEKA, survived to the last eight and was awarded "Best Rookie".

A special thank you goes out to VEKA Inc. and their effort to provide our students with mentors in the field of engineering.  They have been a wonderful resource for our students and we look forward to the opportunity to continue this school-business relationship with their organization.
